It all started back in 1991. I was consulting with business owners every day when I kept hearing these things. I owe my creditors and can not afford to pay. Of course, this led to other issues like having the tax authorities coming in regarding City taxes, State taxes, Enforcement taxes from the Ohio General’s Office along with Federal Income tax liabilities mounting. I have creditors chasing me. My cash flow is low. My credit lines are at a standstill and on and on it goes. So I got the idea that if these good people had someone to truly help them explore and step in and submit counter offers as their Business Debt Messenger, then resolution could be obtained reasonably. This deeply needed service reduces the stress on the business owner and having to interact.  I found that when speaking words of life to these creditors it does change the dispute process and brings about resolve in a positive way that all parties can then feel justified. I believe, prayer is always the REAL KEY.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?

People not exploring options correctly and not knowing how and when to apply them.  As I became more experienced, solving issues became easy for me. There is nothing greater than knowing people really don’t care about how much you know until they truly know about how much you care. I’m truly inspired when business owners from all over write in and say, thank you for helping me get my feet back on solid ground.

How did you come to faith in Christ?

In 1986 I felt God was speaking to my heart. So I was invited to a little church function and enjoyed it. Then went back that Sunday and Christ entered in to my heart and since that day I have never been the same. Old things passed away and all things became new for me. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. (Hebrew) Baruch haba B’shem Adonai. All I can say every day are these beautiful words. Take my hand precious Lord and put me in front of someone that is open to receive.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?

I desire to treat others like I expect to be treated. My goal is for all those that seek my assistance will find that I like business to be just and fair. It is the only way to build any business and have referrals coming in around the clock.  It is a practice that I pray for every day and hope others will do the same.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?

Having God direct my paths and positioning me in providing solutions and having the opportunity to bring about healing to so many crushed hearts and those who feel beaten down.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? What motivates you to do the work you do still today?

We have had first-hand experience and know the stress and overwhelm that a family feels as they begin to navigate the challenges presented when a loved one is no longer safe to live alone. We moved Rachel’s parents from Virginia and struggled through the entire transition on our own. To say that it was stressful is an understatement.  We found few resources when our need was great. Our desire is to be a resource for families, whether they are just starting to plan for the future or they find themselves in the middle of a family crisis. We have studied, trained, and networked to locate the best options available in our area. We also have our own personal experiences which gives us much compassion and empathy for families as they navigate this challenging process. Caring for our loved ones is one of the most rewarding and most challenging experiences we will probably ever have. If you find yourself overwhelmed and not knowing where to begin this process, please reach out. We have been there and we can help you!

How did you come to faith in Christ?

We were both raised in Christ-centered homes where both faith and service were modeled for us by our parents. We both accepted Christ at an early age. True personal faith in Christ was developed by hardships that each of us faced as we became young adults.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?

Being Christ-followers impacts everything that we do. We treat the families that we serve in our business as we would like our own family to be treated. When we are out in the community, whether serving or doing business, we strive to represent Jesus in all we do. We hope that others can see Jesus in our actions as they spend time with us.  Our goal is to reflect the love of Jesus in each interaction that we have.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?

We have a special place in our hearts for the unborn. We have a passion for the dignity of life from before birth to the last breath. We are strong supporters of a variety of Christian ministries that seek to spread the love of Jesus through service to families and those in need. We support ministries both locally and globally because everyone needs Jesus!

Business Description:
I work with business owners to move their business forward and achieve their personal goals through increased profitability, ease of operations, reduced stress, and more time available for family and community.  As a CPA, I use my 40 years of experience working with hundreds of businesses, to help owners minimize taxes, understand what their financials are trying to tell them so they can make better decisions, and in general get “unstuck” from whatever is in the way between where they are now, and where they want to be.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
During college, I wasn’t really sure what career I wanted to pursue, but I had an aunt who kept telling me I’d be a great accountant.  I kept thinking, “Yuck!  Boring!”  But I finally relented and took one class… and much to my surprise, found out I really did enjoy and was good at it.  I was so blessed to have someone in my life who had an insight to my skills and gifting.  That really impressed upon me to never underestimate the power of a “passing comment” that you might offer to someone.  While I started out doing traditional accounting and tax planning, those skill sets laid a foundation for me to help business owners be more successful and reach their full potential not just in business, but in life.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
I grew up in a Christian home, going to church every Sunday.  But in my teen years, I was always uneasy about whether I was “good enough” to go to heaven when I die.  My freshman year in college I read Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  That verse really clicked and the light went on… I don’t have to, and in fact can’t earn my way to peace with God.  It is only by loving Him, trusting Him, putting my faith in Christ’s completed work on the cross, that I can have eternal life.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
I am not in business to get ahead, make as much money as I can, have as many toys and luxuries as I can, or to build a multi-million dollar retirement account.  I am in business to utilize the talents and gifts God has entrusted to me, to be of the most service to others as possible.  Yes, I think certain financial rewards will come from doing that well, but money isn’t the driving factor for me.  I feel personal fulfillment when I make a difference in other people’s lives; to me, that’s the indication I’m pursuing God’s purpose for my life.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
My first priority is supporting my local church and its various ministries.  That includes a former pastor who is now seeing amazing things happen in India and Nepal (RunGlobal.org).  Apart from many other worthy causes we also support, my wife and I have spent years volunteering as 4-H advisors because we’ve seen the life skills, work ethic and character those programs have built into our own kids and so many other children.  We also enjoy supporting our State and National Parks because we are so often humbled and grateful for both the grandeur and the intricate design of God’s creation in these awe-inspiring spaces.  We feel so refreshed and renewed after spending time in nature and want to help ensure others can continue to be inspired and drawn closer to God by experiencing them as well.

We help customers sell their homes and help customers and many first-time buyers purchase a home.

For each customer that God gives me I do my utmost best to negotiate for the buyer or seller (whichever customer I am representing) the best terms possible for the purchase or the sale of the property.

Call me today to receive Top Quality Service.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
I wanted to help people own their own homes. Owning a home gives one a chance to have a more stable home environment than renting, knowing as long as one pays their house payment, they can have a home of their own. It s  a great feeling to help a first-time home buyer purchase their first home and help customers become homeowners.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
By learning in Church and school that Jesus is the savior of the World and that he died for our mistakes and sins and that Jesus gives us new life in him.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
I always try to remember that for each customer I am given the opportunity to serve, it is because God opened the door for me to meet that customer.  Whether helping a customer sell their home and or helping the customer purchase a home, I feel honored to help the customer achieve their real estate goals.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
I feel helping those who stand for life is the real battleground because they are trying to convince women to choose life for their babies. I also help support a Christian school, because teachers who work at a Christian school may only receive minimal pay, but they are given the chance to teach students about God and how to live for God in this world.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
Prior to Starting Fastest Labs of South Dayton, I had worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years and really enjoyed helping people. Through a lot of prayer and asking GOD to lead me to a customer focused healthcare business I could own is what I prayed for and was lead to the drug testing business. I wanted a business in the healthcare arena where I could help employers maintain a drug-free work environment and at the same time control how the customer is treated. Proving each and every customer with the best customer service is my mission. It makes no difference if we are serving an employer or an individual we always provide fast friendly service.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
I came to Christ as an adult because I knew I was a sinner and always wanted to control things but no matter how hard I tried, I could not control so much of my life. So after a lot of frustration over many years, I asked GOD into my life. Growing in relationship with Christ and trusting in GOD and handing over control is something I still struggle with at times but I now have faith that GOD is always working in my best interest and loves me. I lay my control of things over to him.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
In my business, I try to show Christ’s love in everything I do by providing a safe, friendly, and spotless facility. Playing Christian music in my office,  I feel provides a calm relaxed atmosphere and hopefully will have a positive effect on customers. We never judge any customers.  A lot of people come in with sad situations and we provide them with kindness,  love, and never judge.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
I believe in helping people better their lives. I plant seeds of Christ by serving others. I feel God has put me in this business to serve others.

Business Description:
I am a Realtor with a business focus on assistance to older adults and caregivers who need to sell a home to facilitate a Lifestyle Transition into retirement or a care community as well as to those needing to sell a home to settle an estate. My goal is to make what may be a traumatic process much Less Stressful and More Successful so that instead of feeling Overwhelmed my clients can fee Overjoyed with the decisions they are making and the life that is ahead for them. As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist and a Certified Senior Housing Specialist I am confident in my ability to  provide  professional, compassionate, and ethical service to my clients.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
My sister and I assisted our parents with all the challenges they faced prior to their deaths. We dealt with their physical challenges, doctor appointments, Meals On Wheels, home healthcare, rehab times, as well as the decluttering and ultimate sale of their home and a condo for relocation to an assisted/skilled living  community. With the aging population in the USA growing by the day I realized there are many others who could use my help during what  is typically a very overwhelming and traumatic time and that very few Realtors were prepared to  handle older adult challenges. For this reason I took the training  from the National Association of Realtors as well as from the Seniors Real Estate Institute and became a Seniors Real Estate Specialist as well as a Certified Senior Housing Specialist. I am also a member of the National Association of Senior Advocates.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
I grew up with 6 siblings in a faith-based home and have always actively practiced my faith. I truly feel that I need to live with the belief that God will guide me according to His Divine Plan to live according to His Will for me. I believe that things happen for a reason…God’s reason. My mom said, “God writes straight but He sometimes uses crooked lines.” Therefore, we may not understand  His reasons but must believe in and listen to the promptings of His Holy Spirit. We need to believe in Him and keep alive our hope that all will turn out for the best if we continue to do our part. I try to place my life completely and unreservedly in His hands and trust that He will not let anything happen to me outside of His will for me.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
I view each client as a child of God who needs help. I know God gave me specific skills and abilities to educate others and  to provide them with the caring assistance they need in order to get through some tough and bittersweet times. I want to treat others the way I wanted my own parents treated, giving them kindness, consideration, and validity as I professionally and ethically guide them through the process of selling a home in any type market.  I want my clients to view me as a Trusted Advisor.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
My passion is working with older adults and their families, assisting them in any way I am able.  I want to honor God and the memory of my parents by doing so. I have a cadre of trusted referral partners who work with me to provide various types of services to make the home-selling process as smooth and successful as possible.  My goal is to sell a home in the quickest amount of time for the best price the home can get in the market. As a Realtor and a member of the National Association of Senior Advocates I am held to very high ethics standards in my work and dealings with others.

Business Phone: 765.644.2121

Business Description: Operation Love Ministries provides help for today and hope for tomorrow through programs and services meeting critical and urgent everyday needs — from food and clothing to prescription medications and financial intervention, as well as providing resources for long-term stability through budgeting assistance, nutrition classes, and case management.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
I have wanted to help others for a long time, which led me to a master’s degree in Public Administration. However, working for the state did not give me the flexibility to truly problem-solve, nor to offer the hope that is in Christ to so many in need. The nonprofit field allows for so much more agility to move to try creative approaches to helping others, while Operation Love Ministries in particular is designed to provide the option for the important spiritual services for which our community members are desperately looking. I am also incredibly motivated to see the “global church” come together through our ministry, as we have over 30 churches working together to avoid duplication of services and combine resources to help others in a more strategic and life-changing way. Seeing when the work pays off as we are able to create innovative ways to get people’s tangible needs met, while also seeing hope come back into their eyes as we share genuine love, has kept me in the field for over 10 years, 7 of which have been at the helm of Operation Love.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
When I was young, my parents did bring me to church, but it was my father’s example of reading scripture, prayer and seeking God’s will that taught me most. I determined at a very early age that I continually seek out God’s will for my life, accepting Christ at an age I can’t even remember, and praying for wisdom, guidance, and listening to that still small voice of the Holy Spirit ever since.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
Our faith is in every fiber of our service to the community. Operation Love Ministries is an alliance of churches as an outreach arm to share the love that we have first received through God’s grace. It means that we treat each person with the God-given dignity and care they deserve, that no one is a number when receiving food from our pantry or going through our Balanced Budget program. We believe that life-change can only come with heart-change, and that heart-change is led by the Lord.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
We champion the work of hundreds of dedicated volunteers, donors, and partners here at Operation Love Ministries because we are inspired and blessed to serve over 2,000 families each year with food, clothing, and household pantry; human services programs that teach budgeting skills and intervene in financial emergencies; and annual back to school and Christmas Wishes programs that help families with their school supply and basic needs plus gifts at Christmas. Operation Love is truly acting as the hands and fee

Business Description:
Design & Intent Ministries is a counseling and discipleship ministry for men and women with same-sex attraction, gay-identified or trans-identified who are pursuing sexual purity and relational wholeness in accordance with God’s Word and as seen through the Divine’s design and intent throughout creation.  Additionally, we offer support for the family and friends of gay and trans-identified individuals.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
Three men who Jesus had transformed in their identities, desire and behaviors met within the Christian community.   These three men very joyfully and tearfully shared the stories of their journeys of redemption, restoration, and transformation with one another.  They were profoundly aware that there are thousands of men and women, like themselves at one time acquiescing to a gay identity with no idea of how Jesus enable them to walk in purity and wholeness. The men bowed their heads in prayer, “Jesus: What do you want to do with us?”  They heard him say, “Start a support group and get a telephone line.”

That was thirty-four years ago.  Fast-forwarding to today Design & Intent Ministries serves between four hundred individuals a year.   We have eight support groups a month, consult with numerous pastors, leaders, teachers, and present classes on issues surrounding sexuality in various venues.

We have been on the front line of battle culturally and on the front row seats to see God change lives that have affected lives for generations!

Our motto: With Jesus anything is possible

How did you come to faith in Christ?
My struggle with same-sex attraction had gotten me so lost and confused, that when I experienced the love of Jesus, I surrendered everything to Him.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
His Word and His Spirit are our guides.  With one ear we listen to the individual’s heart and the other ear we listen to the Spirit of our Living God.
Jesus has impacted your lives personally and in every way so too then we inspire others to trust Him and follow His ways.   We comfort others the way Jesus comforted us and love one another as He loved us.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
Psalm 102: 19 & 20  “The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven, he viewed the earth, 20 to hear the groans of the prisoners and release them.

This ministry exists because God hears the cries of His creation and is responding.  One way He responds to the cries of His creation is through Design & Intent Ministries.

Business Description:
Since, 1978, Grover Brown of AB Intro-Spect has been proudly helping homeowners protect their investment by educating them not only on the condition of their house at the time of purchase, but also how to maintain its value in the long run.  He tailors each inspection to the individual needs of his clients, going far beyond a simple list of defects.   Grover comes from a family of builders and contractors…this business is in his blood.  His approach is simple: It’s not an inspection.  It’s an education.  Grover walks you through every step of the process for lasting peace of mind.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
Education! I love educating people on how to take care of their home. For most people their home is the most expensive investment they will ever make and they have no clue on how to maintain it. In fact most people do not even know what needs to be maintained and when they find out they become overwhelmed. However, once they are educated and know how to maintain it, they are usually much more comfortable and more likely to actually do it. It’s sort of like that with our walk with Christ. Most of us are completely oblivious to the effect of sin in our lives. Once we become aware of what sin has done we become overwhelm with our need for a Savior but we are confused and/or disoriented of how to actually walk that out. I love helping people see how Our Father longs to personally come along side of and even send HIS Spirit to help us.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
I have always been a believer but not always a disciple of Christ. With that said, I have not shared the full details of my coming to faith in Christ with many people because of the graphic content. The depravity of the human soul is gut-wrenching. But the message of the Cross and the Love of Christ Jesus has brought redemption in ways I never dreamed of. How did I come to faith in Christ? I didn’t. He came to me. Man cannot come to Christ until Christ has come to them. No one can come to Christ except the Father draw them. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it very clear. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Most people understand God’s grace as a gift but they miss the truth that the real gift from God is the very faith we need to receive the grace of HIS salvation. So how did I come to faith in Christ? By, through and in HIS gift of faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek HIM.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
It is humbling, especially when I stop to think that I am representing the King of Kings and everything they see in me they imagine this is how Christ is. I take very seriously the scripture “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, rather than for people.” I pray over every house and for all those involved knowing God loves each and every one of them not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
If I had to pick just one cause it would be the Pro Life cause. All humanity is at the center of why Our Father created this world and to show any disregard for human life is to show disregard and even contempt for God Himself. With this in mind, if I had to choose just one ministry it would be Answers in Genesis. It is foundational to everything the Bible declares starting with Creation itself, Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God” created through Revelation 22:21 “The grace of Our LORD Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.” Answers in Genesis has two outstanding attractions including Noah’s Ark built to scale and the Creation Museum which houses one of the most cutting edge Pro-Life display “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made” exhibit.

Business Description:
Sayre Heating & Cooling provides residential heating and cooling service and replacements.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
It was always appealing to me to be in business with my dad. In 1988 we talked and decided that we could do heating and cooling. I liked the idea of being able to fix things as well as helping people out with a problem they were facing in their home.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
My parents are both born again Christians. I was raised in a Christian house old all my life. When I was 5 years old I realized I needed a savior. I had asked my Sunday school teacher if I could pray with her after class. She of course said yes and I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me.  This was at Fellowship Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio in 1974. I am so thankful for my Sunday school teacher being willing to listen to me at such a young age. I am also eternally grateful to my parents for being that Godly example and for telling me of Jesus and reading the Bible to me every night before bed time. I see how God used all these people to influence me for Christ early on.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
We do our best to be an example and Godly influence in business. It doesn’t mean we are perfect or don’t make mistakes. It means that we will fix our mistakes and learn from them. We also strive to be honest and fair about everything we do. The attitude is to do all work to honor God. I believe we are working to please God and that should show in our work.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
The LORD always provides people in my life to invest in. God has allowed me to help multiple people out in many different ways. Whether they needed prayer, a shoulder to cry on, or financial help, there is always someone in your life that can use your help. I believe that God has given me the heart to help people. I enjoy giving more than receiving. I have learned that when you are a willing vessel God puts people in your path. The goal is to be sensitive to the calling of the Holy Spirit.

Fred and Netta Martin uniquely decided to bring a new fresh cleaning business/ideal to life and started by naming it Fast and Neat Services LLC, representing the first letters of their names, and adding services that we can stand by.   They launched their business from the ground up, focusing on Residential, Commercial, Small Business, and Storefront Post Construction Clean up Industries.  Their business focuses on their clients’ needs, so with every walkthrough, they promise you a great experience, budget-friendly prices, and top-of-the-line cleaning products that are safe for the environment, their clients, and the fur babies, if any.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?

We combined our family early in our relationship… Fred and I knew our careers and retirement days were fastly approaching, and making business moves for our future seemed perfect.  We pondered over being business owners and entrepreneurs for a year, and I then finally took the ultimate leap of faith and left my 14-year career in Law Enforcement, and scaled myself down to a 9-5 schedule to put a master plan together to grow our cleaning business.  The main reason we decided to open a cleaning business was that we both had been in the industry, and we both love to be in a clean and healthy space/environment ourselves, and wanted to help others to keep their space clean and healthy as well. Lastly, there were not a lot of small black-owned cleaning businesses in our area that handled Move in/Move out, one-time clean, and reoccurring cleaning, like ours.

How did you come to faith in Christ?

Netta:  I was led to Christ by truth, training, and teaching from the churches I attended as a little girl. That led to my adulthood and transformed me into the woman that I am today. I was led to believe a long time ago that if someone asks about my hope and faith as a believer, I should always be ready to explain it. (1Pet 3:15). I first came to believe that I was a sinner, so I started reading the book of Romans. I knew I had sinned and fallen short (Romans 3:23), but God demonstrated His own love for me while I yet sinned, I had to believe Christ died for me (Rom 5:8). I knew God Loved Me no matter what.
Fred’s journey to Christ was different than mine… he knew for his children that he needed to set an example of a God-fearing man, and he knew “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Rom 6:23. Fred knew his salvation was a gift from God – it wasn’t anything he could earn, and he knew he had to work hard to keep it. Fred knew he wanted to show God he appreciated the gift, through Love, Service, and sharing his faith with others.

We believe that the Holy Spirit works within… we came together by Faith, and are led by Faith.  It was our faith together that moved Netta to decide to walk away from a 14-year career in Law Enforcement for several reasons, but most importantly, it hindered me from church and time with the Lord (and with my understanding of God and the Holy Bible). As I grew into the word of God, mountains were easily moved and God was ever so present in my home, in our lives, and in our business decisions.  Our business was founded on faith and faith alone. We never thought entrepreneurship was arising.  Just as Netta studied the word of God, she also studied the ins and outs of our business. We are making sure we grow our business from the ground up, with all the above inspiration and purpose God is granting us.  Just like the purpose God put us here on earth, we are putting into our business, starting with an advertisement here in a Christian-based publication. Thank You Markina McNight (NSM)  for leading us to the Christian Blue Pages, and thank you, Brian Hegyi from Christian Blue as well

Please share a story where you saw God move in your business or impact a customer.

We asked God to live in our hearts early on in our marriage, so we knew our business had to have a foundation as such. We knew the moment that once we launched our business on social media that we were going to need the Holy Spirit to watch over us and watch over our business as it grows. We launched in January 2020, just as Covid-19 became a world pandemic.  It was a frightening time to start a business and watch it grow.  I remember going into my prayer room (bathroom) and talking to God for 30 minutes, crying at a business that had not failed. I went to bed with another prayer on my heart. I asked God to show us what needs to be done because one week went past, then the next week went past, and not one phone call, not one interest in social media.  A few nights later we decided to go ahead and get the business its own phone number (937-750-8642).  I took the number 8642 and said these letters stand for (TMGC) – Trust Me God Coming!  So Wednesday came, and I had a ministry lead meeting at the church. Our pastor said there will be noticeable changes within the church, starting with the cleaning of the church, and he said we will be looking for another company to come to clean our church. I sat there incredibly quiet, and never uttered that we just launched our cleaning business called Fast and Neat Services LLC, and that we could do it. I got home, told Fred, and he said “What do we need to do?” I said, “Let us pray on it”, which was my way of saying “I do not know.” I then had a dream come to me saying, “Reach out to the Elder of the church and tell him”, so I called and set up a walk-through. Two months went past and the pandemic was in full swing, when we finally got a call from the church, “Can your company do a deep clean of the church?” “YES!”, I said.  We took on the task, and then bid for the contract, and got it. A few days later, I prayed and said, “God, what now?” So, we posted again on social media, and this time our post was liked and shared, and people/businesses were being tagged, asking for our number.  Now I believe it was God who interceded, just as I began to have thoughts of giving up on the business and going back to policing. The very next day, we got a phone call from a salon, set up our walk-through, and this time, we corrected the mistakes we made from the first walkthrough, and got the job! I then went into my prayer room (bathroom) and said, “Lord, I don’t want to go back to Law Enforcement… I love the freedom that I have. Please direct me differently, not only with the business but with another source of income. I then walked into this law firm, and came out hired, knowing nothing but God!

Moving forward into the business, we got a call and set up a walkthrough for a business that was worth $1.5 million.  This business wanted to cut corners on the cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of the location. Now because I strongly felt about the old saying “cleanliness is next to godliness”, we could not see our business cutting corners and not cleaning a high-profile business as such. So, we learned several valuable lessons that sustain us to this day in our business. We will only grow and hire people that have a passion for life and work.

I AM Coffee

Business Name: I AM Coffee

Business Address: 4509 Vine St Cincinnati,  Ohio  45217

Facebook Pagehttps://www.facebook.com/WeAreIAMCoffee

Business Phone: (513) 429-4975

We are a Christian-owned coffee shop located in the heart of a little community called Saint Bernard, about 6 miles from downtown Cincinnati. We offer coffee, and espresso-based drinks along with a variety of other pre-packaged drinks. We also offer pastries, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches for the morning, and sandwiches and soup on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September through April. We provide indoor and outdoor seating, along with a cozy and relaxing environment for you to sit, read, and enjoy community, or even study. We make sure every customer is treated like family and enjoy getting to know our regular customers. We welcome everyone, from kids to the elderly, and even our four-legged friends as well. We make sure to sugar up the kids, give dog treats, then send you on your way!

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
I (Carolyn) actually helped out here before when it was an existing coffee shop under a different name and ownership. The previous owners were having some health issues, and the shop was going to close. We felt it was a very important part of this community, and hated to see it close up. So along with another couple, we purchased it, renamed it, and rebranded it. We’ve been going strong since April of 2018.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
For me (Carolyn), I was 12 years old when I accepted Christ at my home church in our youth department. I had been raised in this church since I was 9 months old. I also attended a private Christian school for 6 years, so I was aware of who our Lord and Savior was and still is.
Ron was 15 years old and gave his heart to Christ at a revival we were having at our church. We actually met at church in the youth department and were friends. We grew up and then went our separate ways for 15 years until we were given the chance to come back together, then marry.  We have been married for 17 years now, with a blended family.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
We feel that being here in the community, we are a safe haven for people; plus, it gives us the opportunity for outreach throughout the community. I had already been heavily involved with community service within our school district, church, and honor society.  We have found a purpose within this community, and hope we at least can help others. We feel the need here with the children of the schools and do not like to see them go hungry or go without

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
We support several different aspects of the community, from the food pantry at local churches to all the schools around us. We help collect food, coats and winter apparel, and school supplies, as well as items for our senior citizens. We do not like to see people go without, and know how lucky we are to be given this opportunity. We only hope we can grow even more.

We will do everything we can to ensure that our patients are comfortable. We are proud to help people heal after an accident or injury and diminish any unwanted discomfort.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
My mom was a nurse and my step dad was a doctor. He had suffered low back pain for years and had 2 back surgeries
I watched him suffer from the pain.  I did not know how much back pain someone could suffer

My personal story is as follows…I had jumped on a roof at 13 years old, and broke my back in 2 places. At 17, I was competing in surfing in California and suffered tremendous back pain. I found a grocery store receipt, and on the back was a coupon for a Free exam and xrays at a Chiropractic office. I went, and let me tell you it felt so good and changed my life.

I later became a massage therapist and then decided to become a chiropractor. I love being a chiropractor and working with my hands to help people feel better, move better and live better lives with chiropractic and living a healthy lifestyle.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
When I met my wife and became a chiropractor, I thought I should check out Christianity. I went to a Promise Keepers Event in Oakland, California, and Billy Graham gave an altar call for anyone who wanted to receive Christ, that they could do that now. I walked forward in faith and gave my life to Christ.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
It is everything to me. I feel that it is the way we do our business…. by Christian values.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
I attend Adventure Church in Lewis Center, Ohio. Its a non-denominational church.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
We both grew up in Christian homes and had parents that taught us about Jesus.  We both made decisions as teenagers to give our lives to Christ.  That has made all the difference.  We have made our faith an important part of our own family and have instilled those Christian values in each of our children.

How does your faith impact the way you do business?
It affects everything we do,  because Jesus is the center of our lives.  It affects how we deal with customers, train our employees, and how we interact with our community.  Our faith is a part of every decision we make.   It is our hope that people leave our store feeling that something is different about our business.  The difference is Jesus.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
We love and value all the young people that work for us.  God has given us the opportunity over the years to work with many teenagers and young adults from all walks of life.  It is rewarding to teach young people how to work hard and influence their lives in a positive way.  Our employees are the best part about our business.

Business Description: Diane Wingerter offers those in Career Transition the strategies and tactics to guide them to a Career and to a Company which they LOVE!  Process spans the entire journey–including how to prepare, select, plan, execute, follow-through & analyze. Together with clients, she creates a plan by design, not by default. This allows her clients to embrace a process infused with prayer and to take control and realize that their future lies in their own hands!

How did you get started in this line of work? In the Corporate setting, Diane served in roles such as Vice President of Human Resources and personally hired over 1,900 individuals along life’s highway.  As Diane combines her hiring perspective–along with her strong sales and marketing experience–she also infuses prayer, scripture and God’s assistance throughout the journey.  Diane’s ‘success-cocktail’ is designed to conquer and expedite the Career-Journey. Thus, her clients transform from “Hunting2Hired” and when that occurs, they give the Glory to God!

How did you come to faith in Christ?  I ‘grew-up’ in the Church environment since elementary school and it has always been a  part of my life. At the age of 6, I was on a live Christian TV Show, which aired on Sundays.  I served in the Youth Ministry and in the Children’s Ministry for a total of six years. Along life’s highway, I was traveling and working in multiple states and became seriously ill.  At that time, I felt the presence of God & Jesus in my recovery and healing and truly know that God was with me.  He will help you, if you ask, through prayer.  So, I live my life as a ‘Prayer Warrior’ with daily Prayer and with Gratitude, always at the forefront of my mind.

How does your faith impact the way you do business? Simple, I base my business decisions on biblical principles and do so, with confidence in my decisions.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?  Healing is near and dear to me, because of my own experience and that of others who I have prayed for and have received healing. About 3 years ago, I put together a healing prayer guide ‘Healing On The Horizon’ which I send to individuals who are in need of prayer support and guidance.

Please share a story where you saw God move in your business or impact a customer. God gave me the idea to add Faith to my book.  In 2019, when I originally came up with the title and idea to write Hunting2Hired, the elements of scripture and prayer were not in the concept.  In February of 2020, God said to add Faith into the Book, and I said, yes Sir!  So, when I began to write it during late March of 2020…..I moved forward, full-steam ahead and finished the initial manuscript 5-weeks later!

Why do you advertise with Christian Blue Network? Three reasons, I want to support a Christian-Based Publication, I want to be ‘associated’ with like-minded Businesses and Business Owners, and I feel the ‘audience’ will appreciate the fact that Faith is infused into my Book–as well as–throughout my one-on-one Consulting.

Practical Ideas on How to Shine the Light of Christ at Work

Support StaffUncategorized Leave a Comment

If you are looking for practical ways to shine the light of Christ through your business (and personal) life, I offer these suggestions below – through prayer, what you share, how you care, and what you “wear”. Choose which ideas work best work given your situation, then trust God these actions will bear fruit.

Prayer – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Be joyful always, pray continually…”

  1. Pray for your clients, vendors, and staff
  2. Plan a weekly staff prayer time and/or devotional
  3. Open and close every meeting in prayer
  4. When a need arises, pray for someone right then, instead of saying “I’ll pray for you”
  5. Offer a prayer for your meal at restaurants; ask your server ahead of time if they have a prayer request you can
    include.
  6. Pray on the full armor of God at the start of your day
  7. Pray Psalm 5:3 – then wait expectantly

Share

  1. Tell your faith story regularly – with believers first – until you are comfortable telling it to others.
  2. If you love someone, tell them, and tell them that God loves them, too.
  3. Share your organization’s core (faith) principles and stories of God’s amazing grace in your company on a “Who
We Are” section of your company website (see https://christianblue.com/wp/about-us as an example)
  4. Blog stories of faith – see https://christianblue.com/wp/category/christian-business-spotlights/
  5. Add a Faith section in your company e-newsletter
  6. Populate social media with Biblical encouragements, mixed in quotes from inspirational leaders. Like our
Christian Blue Network Facebook page and share our distinctively Christian content on your FB page.
  7. Take advantage of holidays like Easter (including Lent), Mother’s and Father’s Days, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to share the Good News on social media.
  8. Send birthday cards to clients that include a scriptural encouragement.
  9. Company Christmas parties – take time to share the birth of Christ story, or go caroling (see
www.GoCaroling.com). Simply wish people “Merry Christmas”. God’s word never returns void.

Care (Demonstrate the love of Christ)

  1. Promote Christian causes in your organization’s print or e-newsletter
  2. Tell people “God bless you today” verbally, on voicemail, etc.
  3. Collaborate with ministries, other organizations, or individuals on faith-based community initiatives.
  4. Apply the Matthew 18 principle if have an issue with a brother or sister in the Lord, or anyone.
  5. Grow in understanding of faith/work/life balance – check out resources found at www.atworkonpurpose.org.

Wear (Indirect Witnessing Opportunities)

  1. “DO wear your faith on your sleeve” — view advertising as an opportunity to reach clients AND witness – include
Christian symbols, scriptural references in print advertising, web, mobile, and broadcast advertising.
  2. Add a Faith statement or symbol on your business card, brochure (print and digital).
  3. Play Christian music in the background of your waiting room/lobby/office
  4. Place a Bible and other Christian material in your waiting room/lobby/office
  5. Offer Christian giveaway items at your trade show booth
  6. Wear Christian attire at events.
  7. As long as it is in good taste, put a Christian bumper sticker on your car (i.e. www.Upward.org)
  8. Advertise on (and play) Christian radio – many “flipping through dial” come to Christ through radio ministry.
  9. If you haven’t already, advertise in the Christian Blue Network (we’ll help shine your light and tell your story).

If you practice other ways to bring the Good News into your work world, I’d love to hear from you! connect@trustbluereview.com

Marketing Strength Metrics Assessment – A simple marketing tool to highlight gaps in your plan

Support StaffUncategorized Leave a Comment

By Dimalanta Design Group

To say that everything feels a little uncertain right now with the current pandemic would be an understatement. Many business owners are on high alert. Now is the time to assess your marketing strengths and weaknesses to reassess strategies on how to best reach your target audience.

When we first start with a new client, we always start at the beginning by learning where there are gaps in their marketing plan. We use a simple marketing assessment tool called Marketing Strength Metrics that covers 5 areas of marketing that will help you determine very quickly where the biggest gaps are in your marketing.

5 areas of marketing to assess:

1. Branding

Taking a hard look at all areas of your brand from the logo to the messaging is a great place to start when assessing your marketing. Getting feedback from your target audience could also be a great way to determine how people view your brand image and if that matches the messaging.

2. Culture

Oftentimes we forget that company culture ties directly to marketing. If there are a lot of internal disagreements and disunity regarding the direction, vision, or mission, this will severely affect marketing. When all employees and departments in an organization are aligned with the company’s culture, the marketing plan is on the right path to being successful.

3. MarCom

MarCom is short for Marketing Communications, which is everything from design collateral, advertisements, PR strategy, social media, e-newsletters, or any promotional material. Knowing what makes your organization unique needs to match your brand strategy through MarCom.

4. Sales

Over and over again, we see that sales and marketing seem to clash and are typically not on the same page. Sales and marketing strategies should complement and support each other. Staying targeted together by moving in the same direction makes a marketing strategy much more successful.

5. Customer Service

Having exceptional customer service should be a key factor in your marketing strategy. Good customer service means over-delivering, responding timely, and being transparent if there are issues with products. Treat your customers as an individual by building trust and a relationship so they don’t feel like just a number.

Take the test.
Answer the following and rate your organization on a scale of 0–10 with 10 being the best:

  • How confident are you in your organization’s brand?
  • Is your organization’s culture aligned with your brand?
  • Does your MarCom match your brand strategies?
  • How are your sales? Do your sales activities coordinate with your marketing strategies?
  • How well do you deliver on customer service?

So, how did you score in these 5 areas? Hopefully, this will give you some insight into where the gaps are in your marketing strategies. Not sure where to start? Contact us at info@dimalantadesigngroup.com to get a free one-hour consultation from marketing expert, Ernie Dimalanta.

What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
My father started business in 1975,  With six brothers, there was not enough work for all of us so at 19 I went to work in the lawn care field for about 12 years. In 2000, I noticed the company was not doing well for many reasons. At that time only my brother Calvin was working for our dad. I asked my brother, if dad would sell the company to us, would he be alright with me coming back & running company. Our journey started April 1st 2000. We are now in our 21st year owning company together and working side by side. I give our Lord Jesus Christ all the credit for working this out for us. Our father was hard to work for and really didn’t think he would sell company to us, but timing was right-in God’s time.

How did you come to faith in Christ?
My mother is a true saint of God, she always tried to make us go to church when i was young, but during my teenage years I didn’t want anything to do with God. At age 30, after thinking I had the world where I wanted it-it all came crashing down-my marriage failed, lost my new home, car, etc. I left with what I could in the back of my 68 chevy truck after 9 years of marriage. My sons were 9 & 6 at the time. My mind was not good then and God started dealing with my soul & I got saved on July 6, 1998. I was still going thru my divorce at that time but God still helped me quit smoking on July 17, 1998, wasn’t long after that I knew I found something in Christ I never wanted to give up & to this day, I praise him for my salvation. Two years later, I was in business for myself, got custody of my two boys, I know I could not have done this on my own. Had to wait on the Lord for 12 years, but he gave me a wife of 9 years now-so blessed.

How does your faith in Jesus impact the way you do business?
Just as the bible says-do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That is our motto. We let our faith speak for itself-trying to treat others as Christ would.

What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
I am currently on the board at my church, I believe our youth are the future of the church and world so I would say my cause is to help in the youth ministry where I can. I organize a car show yearly with our proceeds going to help youth go to church camp, etc. I don’t see myself as a minister or teacher but willing to go where God leads me.
