Dry Ally is a customer service business working in the Restoration industry. We focus on emergency water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation. Although we primarily get paid by insurance companies, we work for the property owners and our primary goal is to ensure great customer service that matches our great service.
What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
I spent 15 years in the insurance industry – 6 years as an Insurance Risk Consultant and 9 years as an Insurance Property Adjuster. I took the leap from corporate insurance to restoration because I was no longer feeling fulfilled by my corporate job, and I wanted to have the ability to make my own way in order to better help my family. Things started changing for me once my corporate employer started making me take my computer and work phone with me on vacations. On the day of my sister’s wedding, I was told to be checking my email throughout the day, regardless of the day’s events. That is when I knew I needed something different for myself and my family.
How did you come to faith in Christ?
I grew up in the Catholic faith, going to church every Sunday. I started attending Sunday School in Kindergarten and a private Catholic school until 8th grade. My relationship with God had its ups and downs when I was in my young twenties, but through those valleys, it has only made my faith stronger as I get older. Today my family and I attend Mt. Carmel Christian Church and have been there for over 15 years.
How does your faith impact the way you do business?
It sounds cliché, but we are a service-first business. We focus less on the total amount of the work and focus more on how we can help/serve those we’re helping and our community. It can be simple things that can make a large impact, like shoveling driveways and sidewalks in the winter when we’re working job sites, pulling weeds from flower beds and yards on our final day on a job site, cleaning dishes for a family, or simply taking time to talk with an elderly customer who may not be as active as they once were. We don’t believe in rushing the work to get paid. We believe in making an impact on those lives we come into contact with to make a difference and a lasting impression for the better. We leave every job site better than how we found it.
What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
Foster Care & Adoption:
My wife and I spent 7 years as foster parents – fostering 10 children from all walks of life. We’ve fostered children as young at 4 weeks old who were born addicted to alcohol and heroin. We’ve fostered sibling sets of children with emotional and cognitive challenges. And, we’ve been blessed to have adopted our two older children from foster care who suffered from horrific events in their past. Foster Care and Adoption will forever have our hearts, and we’ll always be a champion for it.
Education & Mentorship:
In my spare time, I work with local high schools and middle schools trying to connect and mentor children who are interested in business and entrepreneurship. I’ve been working with the youth for 20 years (some are now married and having children of their own) mentoring and trying to be a positive role model.
