What first inspired you to get into your line of work? And what motivates you to do the work you do still today?
No inspiration, just needed a job!
I read an ad in the Houston Post (no longer exists) for Roofing Salesmen Needed no Experience Necessary…and 30+ years later hereI am. The inspiration behind why I started my own roofing company was that I got tired of being turned down by my bosses when I wanted to start a Free Roof Program for families in need…so I founded Continental Roof Company to giveaway roofs.
How did you come to faith in Christ?
I was raised in the Catholic faith, but drifted away in my late teenage years. It took some eye opening moments in my life for me to realize that there was truly something behind the miracles I had witnessed; they weren’t coincidence or happenstance.
How does your faith impact the way you do business?
My Faith impacts Everything I do, not just my business. Owning a business is hard work and can be very stressful. Balancing “Giving” with profits is difficult. My Faith has allowed me to breath when those moments seem bigger that what they are. I’ve allowed God to make those decisions and carry that weight.
What ministry/cause do you champion and why?
Dragonfly Foundation (to help children with cancer) and Project Parasol (to help in-stall new roofs for families who cannot afford to). But anything or anyone that needs to be lifted up is my ministry as an Empath, I feel someone else’s emotion. It allows me a moment to lend a hand or give a simple gesture that may change that persons day to the better.
