By Darrel Geis, Keep Christ in Christmas

While our culture seems to be progressively removing any mention of Christ from the Christmas season, I encourage you to make a personal commitment to “keep Christ in Christmas” this year. One great and fun way to do this is to gather your family, friends, or employees together and go caroling in a neighborhood or nursing home near you, sharing the love of Christ and the “good news” of Jesus’ birth by “singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:16)

Never caroled before? No problem. Our Christmas Blue Pages caroling songbook is designed to equip, encourage, and inspire the body of Christ to intentionally celebrate the true meaning of Christmas through caroling. You can download free copies of the songbook at GoCaroling.com, as well as instructions on “How and Where” to carol. I’ve been caroling for years, and have seen God do some amazing things in the hearts of the people we’ve visited – one lady in Dayton came out of her house to listen, and, with her young son on her knee, cried tears of joy. I believe at that moment, that we made her Christmas – through a simple act of kindness and love.

The Christmas Blue Pages also features a read-aloud Christmas story – the birth of Christ narrative from the gospels – that can be used at a nursing home, company Christmas party, or around the tree at your family Christmas gathering. So start a new tradition for your family by intentionally celebrating the birth of our Savior through caroling, and share your story with us on Facebook or by commenting here.
